Red Dead Redemption fans have an idea of what Red Dead Redemption 3 could be like, from an in-game secret you might have missed.
Red Dead Redemption 3 feels like an age away, since Rockstar Games’ release schedule seems to involve launching a new game every decade with its next big project being GTA VI.

That hasn’t stopped people from speculating what the next game could be about, with some popular theories being a Sadie Sadler game, some form of reboot, or, that’s right, another prequel.

Now some players reckon a prequel is more likely than ever thanks to an in-game photograph of the three members of the Van Der Linde gang, from years before the second game kicks off.
The picture shows Dutch, Arthur and Hosea looking very young and dashing, leading to speculation a third game could go even further into the past when the gang first gets together.
If that’s the case we’d likely have to expect new voice actors, as Roger Clark, Arthur Morgan’s actor, believes his story is over following the events of the second game.
The reaction to the theory was pretty mixed on Reddit, with many taking issue with the idea of playing as Dutch or Hosea, since neither of them “had a redemption arc.”

Others believe the next Red Dead Redemption Rockstar Games develops should be a “completely new story with new characters,” as it’s clear most of the stories that could be told through the gang have already been and gone.
Some couldn’t really care less what the next game is about, as long as it’s a good one, believing if “Red Dead Redemption 2 is a masterpiece, Red Dead Redemption 3 is gonna be the magnum opus.”
Rockstar Games is yet to confirm any plans for Red Dead Redemption 3, but given the popularity of the franchise there’s no doubt that it’ll happen eventually.
