I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with Infinity Nikki. I’ve never played any of the other games, and yet I find myself consuming every trailer and review out there.
I’m counting down the days. Not only that, but I’ve paid for my £8 pre-order to give me extra in-game goodies. I’ve preregistered on the website for even more, all so I can be a pretty anime girl in this ‘must-play’ PS5 freebie game.
Infinity Nikki is out on 5 December to play for free with no PS+
So thank goodness the reviews are glowing and everyone seems to be having a great time as Nikki in this 3D cosy platformer.

So far, Infinity Nikki has earned a 78 on Metacritic based on just 10 reviews published, which is a pretty nice start.
This is a gacha open-world game based on platforming and cosy tasks like fishing and farming, where Nikki wears new dresses to gain powers and abilities.
Eurogamer called it, “A true step forward for open-world gacha games.”
While PC Gamer said, “What Infinity Nikki lacks in difficulty, it makes up for with a gorgeous wardrobe and charmingly scenic world I can't stop poking around.”

It will be a while before more reviews come in, as only PC codes were available before the upcoming launch on 5 December.
We will, of course, share our thoughts when we’ve spent more time with Nikki and her friends, but it seems those looking to escape into this bright and colourful world will be thrilled.
These positive comments have only spurred me on and I’ll be eager to play once the game unlocks worldwide.
Of course, many are rightly highlighting the predatory monetisation schemes within the game, and it is my desperate hope these can be avoided simply by playing.
