Sony just announced what games we can expect to see in the next wave of additions to the PlayStation Plus Catalogue… and a couple of the new Classics Collection additions are a little out of left field.

As far as PlayStation Plus Extra games are concerned, there are several bangers coming to the service this month.

Chernobylite, Night in the Woods, Far Cry 5, and Under the Waves are amongst the upcoming titles, alongside the very cute and wholesome star of the show The Plucky Squire - as revealed in a recent tweet from the official PlayStationUK Twitter account.

The PlayStation Plus Classics include a couple of titles I’m surprised Sony still remembers.

Alongside the PSP port of Secret Agent Clank and the PSVR 2 game Pistol Whip, two classic, if certainly lesser known, PS2 games Sky Gunner and Mister Mosquito are finding their way to PlayStation 5s this September.

Mister Mosquito has certainly earned its spot in the Classics library however, as sales for the title when it was released on the PS2 were relatively strong - even earning the title a “Best Of” re-release in Japan the following year.

Reviews for the game were average to good at the time of release too, with the public sentiment towards the game growing more and more positive with time.

Sky Gunner has got to be the real star of the show however, which is a cult classic 3D flight simulator that released back in 2001 exclusively for the PS2.

Think Skies of Arcadia’s aesthetic mixed with Panzer Dragoon’s gameplay, and you’ll already be half of the way there.

Although the reviews were decent, Sky Gunner failed to amass the kind of sales that Sony Computer Entertainment, who published the game themselves, were hoping for.

Every game listed will seemingly be available on the 17th of September this month, so if you’re a PlayStation Classics subscriber make sure you give Sky Gunner a go for me. The more people know about that game, the better.
