PlayStation Plus is the gift that keeps on giving (as long as you pay the subscription fee of course) and the Sony service has some terrifying delights for this Halloween season.
There are plenty of games to choose from with PlayStation Plus and if you subscribe to the Premium and Extra tiers, you will have hundreds of titles at your fingertips across a wide variety of genres. However, as this article is about “one of the most terrifying” games ever, I will focus on the horror genre.
Check out the Alien: Isolation trailer below!
To help get into the Halloween spirit, players will be able to pick titles such as The Evil Within, Until Dawn, Outlast II, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and much more. Though one game that perhaps stands out more than most is 2014’s Alien: Isolation from Creative Assembly.

As a child, I was petrified of the Aliens that featured in the movie franchise from Ridley Scott and James Cameron. In fact, the Xenomorph alien was my imaginary monster that hid beneath my bed, not to mention those horrid face-huggers that triggered my fear of spiders.
Yet, despite my crippling fear of the Xenomorph and face-hugger creatures, the Alien franchise is an all-time favourite of mine and when Alien: Isolation was released, my nightmarish dreams came true. That being said, I found Alien: Isolation to be so terrifying that it seriously hindered the chances of me finishing the game, despite absolutely loving it and it seems that I am not the only one.
“PS Plus: Alien Isolation for October, highly recommended,” said joyous Redditor SeasOfNoCheese. “This is probably one of the most terrifying games I've played.

“So f***ing good. Would love a PS VR2 version,” exclaimed Transposer. To which Electronic-Humor-931 replied speaking on many fans' behalf saying: “Thanks, but I don't want to literally s*** my pants.”
“It's the only game that made me take breaks because of the anxiety it created. I could only play it as two to three-hour episodes and then stop until the next day, and that is coming from a horror fan.” I hear that klemp0, I’m with you. “I want to continue playing it so badly because it’s done so incredibly well, it just stresses me out too much,” replied Karevoa.
If you love horror and you’ve never played Alien: Isolation, I couldn't recommend it enough. Yes, towards the end it feels like the game goes on for longer than it should, but it’s still one of the best horror games that I’ve ever played.
Alien: Isolation is available now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
