While for most of us the start of a new year means resolutions we'll never actually keep (sorry, I just can't give up cheese and I'm tired of pretending I can), the most exciting part of January is the arrival of a new batch of PlayStation Plus games.
2023 is the year PlayStation Plus rose in price by around a third across all tiers. With this came a number of controversial new bonuses, such as the introduction of cloud streaming for premium users and the Sony Pictures Core catalogue. The free games have not impressed, by and large, so the hope is 2024 can see a big change.

Based on the free game lineup announced earlier today, it looks like we've got some winners. The free PlayStation Plus games for January 2024 are Nobody Saves The World, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Evil West.
Advert
Nobody Saves The World is a nice surprise, and while it might not look like the kind of big-budget AAA experience so many seem to want from PlayStation Plus every month, it's a delightful dungeon crawler packed with charm and fun ideas. Well worth a look.
A Plague Tale: Requiem is a completely different beast to Nobody Saves The World, and dares ask the question: what if The Last Of Us Part 2 wasn't miserable enough. This is a bleak, bleak game, make no mistake. It's still absolutely fantastic though, if you've the stomach for it.
Finally, Evil West is a decent enough Wild West-flavoured horror shooter that should definitely keep you entertained for a while. Maybe not the huge month some of you were hoping for, but a very positive start to 2024, I'd say.
