The PlayStation 5 Pro may have only just launched but according to a recent insider leak, Sony is already turning its attention to its next piece of hardware.
It seems like just yesterday that the PlayStation 5 was released into the world to a whole lot of drama thanks to scalpers, stock shortages and a whole pandemic to contend with.

However, that is now just a distant memory as Sony launched its upgraded model, the PlayStation 5 Pro, back in November.

With players getting stuck into their brand-new toy, Sony is not done yet and is reportedly working on a portable console capable of playing our favourite PS5 games.
The news was first reported by Bloomberg last month after it claimed that Sony was in the “early stages” of creating the device, meaning that we are years away from its potential release.
Now in recent days, Digital Foundry has entered the fray and revealed that it could corroborate Bloomberg’s report.
As a result, it released the following statement: “What’s interesting about this is we actually heard about this handheld some months ago from a couple of sources specifically.

So, we’re not in the business of leaking things, but it’s interesting that this finally sort of started to make its rounds because it just sort of confirmed what we had seen and heard off the record about this existing, which is cool,” senior staff writer John Linneman shared.
“So, to me this sort of just strengthens the notion that yeah, they’re very much working on something. And this article makes it seem like it’s even further out than I actually thought based on that, so I’m not sure where it’s going, I think there’s like prototype stuff out there possibly."
"There’s still a lot of questions for this, but it does feel like the future of offering a handheld and a home console option is very likely at this point.”
That is all the information we have so far surrounding the potential release of a PlayStation portable but it is exciting news nonetheless.
