PlayStation gamers heartbroken as Sony pulls classic game from sale forever

It is a sad day for Sackboy fans as Sony has announced that it will be removing LittleBigPlanet 3 from the PlayStation Store later this month.

As the third entry in the LittleBigPlanet series, LittleBigPlanet 3 was a hit when it was first released back in 2014.

Don't miss out on the little guy in Run Sackboy! Run! Check out its trailer below.

The puzzle-platform game was developed by Sony Computer Entertainment and welcomed multiple DLCs over the past decade.

However, it seems as though its run has come to an end as Sony took to Twitter to reveal the end.

“After 10 years of playing, creating and sharing content in LittleBigPlanet 3, the game and our entire range of LittleBigPlanet DLC will be removed from the PlayStation Store on October 31st 2024,” the statement read.

As a result, the game will no longer be purchasable but anybody who owns the base game and DLC ahead of its delisting will be able to access it at any time.

Either way, fans are heartbroken as LittleBigPlanet 3 has remained a constant for PlayStation users over the past decade.

“They're killing the Sackboy right before our eyes and all we can do is watch,” read one comment on Twitter.

Another said: “This hurts my soul.”

It is unclear why Sony is removing LittleBigPlanet 3 but many assume it is down to copyright issues and third party licenses.

“I'm assuming this is about licenses for songs and DLC. It's a damn shame. R.I.P LittleBigPlanet,” another comment read.

With the ability to create community levels, LittleBigPlanet 3 offered hours of fun for its community over the years.

However, after its online servers were taken down a few months ago, it was not much of a shock to receive this new announcement.

Luckily, owners will be able to access its story mode at any time and at least Sackboy will live on in our memories.
