PlayStation users whose free store credit has been disappearing will be happy to know Sony has reportedly fixed the issue, hopefully.
PlayStation Stars is Sony’s attempt at giving back to its users. By completing challenges, unlocking trophies and making purchases on the PlayStation store, users will be awarded points. These points can then be redeemed for freebies, including store credit to buy some of the latest and greatest games on the system.
One such game is 2023’s Game Of The Year, Baldur’s Gate 3, which you can check out below
It’s a pretty good system, and one the company has borrowed from its rival Xbox, which has been awarding its players a similar points system for playing the latest Xbox Game Pass titles and other activities on the platform.

Unfortunately there are still a few bugs that need to be ironed out. The most glaring issue is points not being added to a user’s balance despite doing what was needed to get them there. This includes points added for several purchases in the store, something I’ve noticed myself when picking up a few games from the January sales.
PlayStation users have reported the issue to Sony and asked for a fix, and rightly so as a few points can make the difference when you’re after £5 off your next purchase via a gift card.
Fear not though, it seems the gaming giant has listened as it’s reported people are finally getting their points. I can personally confirm this as when I checked my PlayStation app the other day it said the points had been added to my balance for a purchase made at the start of January.
So with that in mind, sit tight and hopefully any of your missing points will show up too if they haven’t already. Better late than never yeah? If you’re still missing points though don’t hesitate to report the issue to PlayStation’s support services.
