PlayStation announces free store credit you can claim until 31 July

Hear that? It's the sound of free credit

There’s an opportunity to grab yourselves some free PlayStation credit, but you must be fast. Not Sonic fast, but at least speedy enough to claim it before 31 July.

Of late, PlayStation has been quite generous to its users. Although not everyone is feeling the latest free games for PlayStation Plus, there’s other perks to be found.

One of these benefits is a “perfect” day one addition on the subscription service, as well as an underrated 2023 RPG that many are glad to see available.

Check out the Shadow of the Erdtre, if you dare

These two examples, and several others, are more than enough to keep fans busy, but why stop there?

Joining them is a chance to score some free store credit. Best of all, you don’t need to be a PS Plus member to claim it.

Only 50 points are available, however, that’s not an amount to turn your nose up at; as Tesco would say, every little helps.

To unlock these points, all you need to do is purchase any of the following games, as detailed via the PlayStation Stars page:

  • Elden Ring
  • Slime Rancher 2
  • Umbraclaw
  • Monster Hunter Stories
  • Grounded
  • Until Then

These are all games Sony has been “enjoying and think you will too”, hence the offer of “sweet summer treats” in the form of free credit.

Each experience has stellar ratings across the board, as shown by their Steam pages; not one has a score below 9/10.

Elden Ring feels like it’ll be the most popular choice, given the recent release of its brutal DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree.

However, we suspect some of you will succumb to the adorable charms of Slime Rancher 2. Even more so after pulling your hair out over those Shadow of the Erdtree bosses. They’re no joke.

Make sure to buy any of those aforementioned titles and the points will be yours. As already stated, you have until 31 July, so get moving.
