A brand new free-to-play title just landed on PlayStation consoles last night, and it’s already receiving absolutely rave reviews.
InFold Games, the developers behind titles such as Love and Deepspace and Mr Love: Queen's Choice (didn't realise my autobiography had already been published), released their new game, Infinity Nikki, upon the world yesterday.
Now, if you’re not familiar with the game in any way, just give me a second to describe it before I tell you about the review scores. It’ll be worth it, I promise.

Infinity Nikki is, from what I can tell after reading several reviews and watching hours of gameplay videos, a game about dressing up.
There’s obviously more to it than that, as there’s a relatively expansive world to explore, several minigames you can play, and even a story to play through that is, by all accounts, actually pretty good.
Take a look at the game in action below.
But that’s all in service to Infinity Nikki’s main goal; amassing dozens of cute outfits. That’s the end game.

Ok, now that’s out of the way, 92% of reviewers on OpenCritic recommend the game and it’s currently sitting at an 80 out of 100 score on Metacritic.
IGN’s Carli Velocci even gave it a 9/10, and stated that Infinity Nikki is “perfectly girly positivity rolled up in a pink and sparkling package” in their conclusion.
Look, I’ll be honest with you, I never thought for one second that this was a game I’d be interested in playing.
I’m not against cute stuff, and I’m not trying to say I’m too masculine for it or anything (I actually own two pink t-shirts, thank you very much) but I just never thought Infinity Nikki would be my cup of tea.

But now I’ve watched all these gameplay videos… I think I get the hype.
Infinity Nikki just looks cosy and simple. Stress-free and wholesome. The type of game you boot up after losing five online ranked matches in a row.
I started installing it before I even wrote this. I’ll let you know what my fave dress is tomorrow morning.
