PlayStation fans believe it’s high time Insomniac Games brought back the Resistance: Fall Of Man series.
Before Insomniac Games revolutionised the superhero video game genre with Marvel’s Spider-Man, they worked on a number of different franchises before eventually swinging onto everyone’s favourite wall-crawler.

Famous examples include Ratchet & Clank, Spyro The Dragon, and the topic of today’s discussion, Resistance: Fall Of Man.
The Resistance games were released exclusively on PlayStation consoles and were first-person shooters set in an alternate version of World War 2, where instead of some of the world’s most powerful nations fighting each other, they fought against a hostile alien species instead.

The species, known as Chimera, takes over the planet and turns ordinary humans into their own personal supersoldiers, leaving it up to the protagonist Sergeant Nathan Hale to lead a small resistance in an attempt to drive the aliens out of the UK.
While it’s not the most famous Insomniac IP, it still has its fans, many of whom hope to see the series continue in one way or another.
Reddit user the_light_of_dawn expressed their interest in seeing the Resistance series brought back for a modern audience, saying: “Just replayed this for the first time in 15 years. Would love to see a soft reboot or something of this series.”
Other fans agreed, hoping Insomniac Games can resurrect the series for current-gen platforms, either through a reboot or remaking the originals with improved graphics and gameplay.

“First PS3 game I played. God, that seems so long ago. But then again, it’s been almost 20 years”
“I said this a few days ago days ago but if they were to remaster the series for next gen consoles, I’d buy it so fast my bank account would get whiplash.”
“Man Insomniac has always been so good”
The next game on Insomniac’s agenda is Marvel’s The Wolverine, which reportedly entered full development recently according to one of its designers. For now, though, the majority of Insomniac fans will be waiting for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to drop.
