A recent rumour claims the next generation PlayStation could see not one but two consoles.
Recently, Sony announced the PlayStation 5 Pro and while this should have been great news for gamers on the blue brand, those celebrations were marred over the price of the mid-generation console.
Check out the PlayStation 5 Pro trailer below!
For starters, it doesn't come with a disc drive or vertical stand, both of which have to be purchased separately. This means that if you wanted to purchase everything you need for your PS5 Pro, you’re looking at a price of around £825.

Don't get me wrong, the PlayStation 5 Pro does improve resolution and framerates but gamers have questioned if the price of the console alone at £700 represents good value for money. This in turn has resulted in many fearing that the cost of the PS6 could exceed the price of the PS5 Pro exponentially.
That being said, if you were concerned with the potential standalone price of the PlayStation 6, things could get more pricey with the addition of a handheld version. As reported by Push Square (via Insider Gaming/NeoGAF), industry leaker KeplerL2 claims that Sony is working on the PS6 and a handheld counterpart.
Of course, these unconfirmed rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. We know that a PlayStation 6 is pretty much guaranteed but a proper handheld console is at least a little bit more surprising and as a fan of the failed PS Vita, I hope this particular rumour is true.
It might be unlikely that Sony would release the PlayStation 6 and handheld console at the same time and I’m hoping that there is at least a 12-month gap in between which will help us save up the money if we wanted to purchase both.
