Although the PlayStation 6 is quite a few years away, the recent announcement for the PS5 Pro (more specifically its price tag) has people worrying about the increased cost of consoles.

However, it seems the worry is somewhat unwarranted as recent leaks reveal that the PlayStation 6 could be affordable after all.

Check out the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro below!

Last week saw Sony's mid-generation console finally get announced.

The PlayStation 5 Pro, as it is called, will offer quite a bit more power than the base PS5 but as a result, it comes with a pretty big price tag.

With many PS fans deciding if the big spend is worth it, it has got others worried about the future of Sony consoles, especially with rumours already floating around about the PS6.

However, well-known AMD leaker Kepler recently took to NeoGAF forums to reveal that two different PlayStation SoCs (system on a chip) are in the works.

This could mean that the next generation Sony console could be released in two different SKUs (stock-keeping units).

Although this is a lot of technical jargon, it quite simply means that there could be two “versions” of the PlayStation 6 released and one will be a lot more affordable than the other.

This is all the information we have right now, especially considering the PlayStation 6 may not even be in full production as of yet.

However, it is still good news for those worried about a potential eye-watering price tag.

As for now, Sony gamers can look forward to the PlayStation 5 Pro which is set to launch in November 2024.

Not only can we look forward to a brand-new console but one of the first games arriving to the platform has already been released and it is a banger.

It remains to be seen what other titles will find their home on the PlayStation 5 Pro but there is no denying that it is set to be an exciting few years for gaming.
