In a seminar by PlayStation’s Mark Cerny, there’s mention of the PS6 and when it’ll launch.
The references are subtle, and thus it’s easy to miss them if you’re not closely paying attention.

Redditor FraudCatcher5 drew attention to this via the PS6 subreddit.
According to them, the possible launch window is teased from approximately 32 minutes into the video.
If you’re still not able to find where Cerny references the next Sony console, the OP is on hand to help pinpoint what you may have missed.
“Watch the entire presentation and there are hints that PS6 is four years away,” they explained.

It turns out, the PS6 isn’t as close to launching as we first thought.
This seems surprising given how we’ve been told that the PS5 is in its latter stages of its lifecycle.
Even though Sony revealed this, further details about its lifecycle have been quietly teased, suggesting we needn’t worry about binning our console just yet.
Also mentioned over the course of the video is Sony’s partnership with AMD.

The reason this has bearing on the PS6’s launch is due to Playstation focusing its attention of vastly improving the specs of its next console.
“So basically they will focus on improving ray tracing as it’s technically still in its early phase and massive focus will be on AI ml processing, because it will double the GPU power,” summarised Harami98.
The launch year hasn't been officially confirmed, but four years from now seems a more than reasonable timescale to work to.
