
PlayStation fans are already looking beyond their PS5s and wondering, with no small amount of concern, exactly how much their next PlayStation console is going to cost them.
Home consoles aren't exactly cheap these days, with the standard PlayStation 5 launching at £479 and the recently released PlayStation 5 Pro demanding an extraordinary £699. It's fair to assume, then, that the PlayStation 6 will be similarly taxing on the old wallet.
I'll admit that I was among those who believed the PlayStation 5 Pro's outrageous price would ensure it was dead on arrival. However, according to Sony the enhanced console has performed admirably, and Sony has even remarked that the hefty price tag had "no negative impact."

This, I fear, is not a reassuring sign for the PlayStation 6, which is currently believed to release in 2028.
Certainly, over on Reddit some fans believe the PS5 Pro's price and subsequent success is a harbinger of things to come. "The PlayStation 6 really is going to be a $700 console on release isn't it?", writes one fan.
It's a sentiment shared across Reddit, with many gamers wondering how Sony could possibly price the PlayStation 6 cheaper than the PS5 Pro. Certainly, it's worth pointing out the PlayStation 4 Pro was £349 at launch - considerably less than the PS5's launch price.
