Sony just announced a major new PlayStation 5 update packed with piping hot new features that fans have been begging for.
There are a ton of features that PlayStation 5 owners would love to see Sony bring to the console. We all want to see custom themes make a return for example. We also wouldn't say not to a web browser that we definitely wouldn't just use to search for porn.
Over on the PlayStation Blog Sony outlined the changes that are being rolled out for beta participants from today. Just be aware that any updates available as part of a beta may not necessarily come to the rest of us right away, if ever - that's why they're in beta.

The meat of the new update is focused around a bunch of new accessibility features, some slick new audio options, and some handy new social features and UI enhancements.
One very cool new touch is the option to assign a second controller to one account as an "assist controller", effectively allowing you to use two controllers as one. This opens up the door to allow us to help friends, children, partners, parents - whoever - with sections of games they might be struggling with for whatever reason.
Meanwhile, Support for compatible Dolby Atmos-enabled audio devices has been enabled - an excellent little treat for those of us looking for that extra immersion.
Social feature enhancements include the ability to invite players into closed parties without adding the player into the group or creating a new group. Players can also send out closed party invitations to groups instead of just individual players.

A smaller but definitely welcome change: the ability to search for specific games in your library rather than just scroll through alphabetically or by recently played. Perfect for those of us with years worth of games in the bank. You can read up on the full list of changes right here.
