PlayStation 5 consoles have received a new system update - and just a heads up, I advise being seated when reading this monumental debrief.
Whether we play on PC, PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch, system updates are a vital procedure for our consoles' health and maintenance.
Sometimes, these system updates can add highly requested features such as Discord integration, dynamic themes, user interface enhancements, and much more. At times, a system update can be deployed to fix a reported bug.
In a nutshell, system updates are always important, but it’s fair to say that some are certainly far more exciting than others. However, many, if not most, system updates are simply boring, no matter how necessary.

One such update, as reported by MP1ST, has been deployed for PlayStation 5 this week with 25.05-11.60.00.05 landing, which weighs in at 1.34GB. This update was announced like an RKO out of nowhere, but what exactly does it do?
Get ready for this, but first, are you seated? If so, good. If not, prepare to face plant the floor or a nearby Victoria Sponge.
PlayStation 5 update version 25.05-11.60.00.05 is for ... “improved system software performance and stability,” and as expected, this update is being roasted by gamers on Reddit.
“We can’t get enough of that system stability! After applying the patch, your console should be more stable,” said a sarcastic Chary-Ka.

“It’s not stable enough until you hear horses neighing from inside it,” replied ro88enegg.
“My PS5 has never felt so stable,” declared Ph0enixes.
“I can now remove the vertical stand, finally! It’s stable enough,” exclaimed blackflaggnz.
“I just want folders on the home screen,” said knightofsparta.

While we genuinely appreciate stability updates, hopefully, the next system update for PlayStation 5 will be a bit more exciting. As always, we’ll keep you posted when the next epic system update drops.
