One of the best things about the Christmas break, aside from the dangerous amount of cheese and knowing you can eat chocolate for breakfast without being judged, is the time to sit and catch up on video games.
2024 has been a corker of a year for games, after all, and our backlogs are begging for mercy. As much as I hate to make things even harder for you, PlayStation gamers currently have until 14 January to download 11 games for free before they're gone.
To be clear, these games are only free to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, but since you're already paying for the service I expect you want to get the most out of it. So don't miss these games while they're still available!
The 11 free games leaving PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium from 14 January are:
- Resident Evil 2 (PS5, PS4) - One of the best remakes of one of the best survival horror games of all time. Don't miss out.
- Hardspace: Shipbreaker (PS5, PS4) - A wonderfully engaging action-adventure simulation game.
- Just Cause 3 (PS4) - One of the maddest open-world sandboxes you'll ever play around in.
- Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (PS4) - A classic of the genre.
- Legend of Mana (PS4) - A cult classic RPG you'll definitely want to check out.
- Secret of Mana (PS4) - A slightly more popular cult classic RPG you'll definitely want to check out.
- Dragon Ball FighterZ (PS5, PS4) - A hugely fun fighter, even if you don't love Dragon Ball.
- Life Is Strange: Before the Storm (PS4) - A decent prequel to the first game.
- Life Is Strange (PS4) - Cringe dialogue aside, this still holds up as an excellent teen drama.
- Just Cause 4 (PS4) - An even bigger, even madder open-world sandbox.
- Pure Hold'em (PS4) - Honestly I'd probably just go play Balatro, but whatever floats your boat.
