It’s been just under two years since Insomniac Games and Sony’s hit 2023 game Marvel's Spider-Man 2 dropped, but fans are already clamouring for a Venom spin-off title.
Just a heads up, this article does include spoilers for Marvel's Spider-Man 2! Continue reading at your own peril if you’ve yet to play it.
During the events of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, we were treated to a bunch of symbiote-focused gameplay.

Most of it revolved around Peter Parker hosting the Venom symbiote, but we also did get to play through a little segment as Venom himself.
It seems the fan base is eager for more however, based on the comments in a thread over on the r/SpidermanPS4 subreddit.
"S**t they could make an AU Miles Morales sized Venom game based off the impeccable Venom segment and it would be a top tier product," commented user bent_crater.
"Just blatant chaos with Venom going up against people like Wolverine."

Sony's next big game is seemingly Ghost of Yōtei.
“The leak stated they were potentially planning a Venom spin off, and it just makes sense. You don't create a model, rig it, give it movesets and the like if you're only gonna use it for one section," replied user PentagramJ2.
"Most likely the symbiote is still alive in Harry, and cut off from Knull's influence, Harry may be able to exercise his influence on it.”

In case you’re unaware, the Insomniac Game leak back in 2023 contained details about a Venom-centric spin-off game in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe that was apparently set to drop in 2025.
Well, it’s been well over a year since then, and we’ve not heard a peep out of the supposed spin-off title. That being said, I think the commenters are absolutely correct; there’s no way Insomniac Games put all of that work in the Venom gameplay sequence in the game just to never follow up on it.
I think we’ll hear something out of the project very soon, likely during the next PlayStation State of Play (whenever that is).
