Hogwarts Legacy is a magical game. I mean, you’d hope so because it’s a Harry Potter game, but still, it’s magical.
It’s even better as you move through the in-game seasons, one of which decorates the castle in delightful Christmas decorations for you to soak in as you go about your wizarding business.
See Hogwarts Legacy below.
If you’re yet to explore Hogwarts Legacy but have an interest to do so, you’ll be glad to hear that you can try the game out for free on PlayStation right now.

Surprisingly, this doesn’t require a subscription to PlayStation Plus though there used to be a trial you could access if you had PlayStation Plus Premium.
Instead, all PlayStation 5 owners can try the game for free for a total of 45 minutes, after which you’ll need to purchase a copy of the full game.
Since the game has been out for a while though, there’s usually a discount as part of one of the sales, so keep an eye out for one of those if you’re interested.
Unfortunately, 45 minutes doesn’t give you a lot of time with the game, as a hefty portion of the opening involves the player customising their character and collecting items that will be integral to your journey.

This includes picking your wand, getting your uniform and other opening story missions, which adds up to quite a bit of time effectively following a tutorial.
Nevertheless, it’s worth trying while it’s free, and I’d recommend the full game even if you’re not a big fan of Harry Potter, especially if you’re on the PS5 Pro as you’ll be able to benefit from an enhanced version soon enough.
It’s not the Christmas gift we expected, but it’s not one we’re going to grumble at either as who doesn’t love a freebie?
