Astro Bot, one of PlayStation’s most beloved games of 2024, is getting another free update tomorrow.
Astro Bot was quite the hit when it came out in September this year. Not only did it attain a 99% recommended score on OpenCritic, but it also sold over one million copies by November.
It got a free update in October which added new levels and bots to the game’s already colossal amount of content.

PlayStation has now announced Astro Bot is getting a new festive update tomorrow, 12th December, to rein in the holiday season.
If you missed Astro Bot, here's a trailer to show what it's all about.
The Winter Wonder update for Astro Bot comes with a new level, but Team Asobi has also teased a few surprises for players to find for themselves.

“Since we want it to remain a little surprise, we will not say too much,” said Team Asobi Studio Director Nicolas Doucet in an official PlayStation Blog post.
“But you should expect a fun-filled level with shiny presents, a good dose of jingle bells, and brand-new special bots to add to your crew!”
The new bots in question haven’t been revealed yet, but I can imagine players will love discovering it all when they can access the update tomorrow.
There does seem to be a caveat with the new Winter Wonder update though - you’ll need to have cleared the game for this special update to appear.

Doucet also claims the new level is intended to be a celebration for both children and adults, so it won’t be a “hair-pulling challenge” like some of the levels in Astro Bot.
That should come as good news for anyone who really struggled with some of those harder levels (looking at you, To The Beat).
Over on the Astro Bot subreddit, one player wrote: “Exciting! Love that they’ve given us extra content.”
Another commenter speculated about new bots that could appear in the level, writing: “I wonder if they'll do a particular game's version of Santa or just a normal Santa bot. Or maybe just winter themed bots from known games.”
