Insomniac Games recently teased a third game to accompany Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and The Wolverine, and fans are speculating it’s Venom related.
Marvel fans (who have a PlayStation) are excitedly awaiting the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as well as news on Marvel’s The Wolverine, both of which are exclusive to the PlayStation 5. Recently though, Insomniac Games announced a third game is currently in development, leading fans to speculate if it’s another comic-book hero/villain game.

Details on the third game are few and far between, with the only confirmed reports being that it will be a AAA title. Fans have been going wild with speculation as to what the game could be, with popular guesses being a new Ratchet & Clank game, or another Marvel project.

The obvious choice that’s making the rounds online is a Venom game. Fans are still bursting with excitement over the recent story trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which showed off the destructive force of nature as he rips apart an aircraft and lets out a harrowing roar. If we get the opportunity to play as Venom during the story, it’ll definitely lead to fans wanting a full-game based on the experience. Personally, I’d love to see Daredevil or The Punisher get the Insomniac treatment, but Venom is just as good, if not better, for a video game adaption, which fans obviously agree on.
“Must be Venom”

“Venom please!!!!!”
“Maybe a Venom one?”
It would add up too, as the voice actor for Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Tony Todd, announced his involvement in another undisclosed project, sharing the news through a tweet that read: "Just booked another significant voiceover for you know who #DevourThis".
Given Insomniac Games are no stranger to spin-off titles like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, it’d only make sense to develop another, especially with a fan-favourite character like Venom. The symbiote also has a history of switching sides in the fight between good and evil, with his most recent portrayals being that of an anti-hero, like in the Tom Hardy Venom films.

Of course there’s no confirmation that it’s a Marvel project at all. It could be a brand new IP, a continuation of a popular Insomniac series like the aforementioned Ratchet & Clank, or maybe even a remake/reboot of a previous game, like Resistance.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches later this year exclusively for PlayStation 5, so we’ll have to see how the story ends to see if a Venom game is a possibility for the future.
