More Stardew Valley is always a good thing, so for those who do want a little more, Fae And Folk is exactly what you need.

Official updates for Stardew Valley are slow but they’re still coming, with the game recently getting a Nintendo Switch 2 edition, and more content is on the way for all versions of the game.

There’s also a huge modding scene and we’ve covered a variety of fan-made expansions that PC players will probably love.

One that caught our eye recently is called Fae And Folk, and gives Stardew Valley a slightly more fantastical twist; it’s worth checking out.

You can find it on NexusMods and as usual, it’s free. “Fae and Folk adds a hidden layer of magic to Stardew Valley,” begins the description, “Guided by a mysterious entity known as ‘The Watcher,’ you will discover ancient artifacts, unlock permanent supernatural abilities, and craft ethere.”

Further down the mod’s description, you’ll find a full list of all the new items and abilities the mod adds, which come in the form of passive buffs for the player.

Visually, it isn’t much of an overhaul but the gameplay additions/changes alone make it worth downloading.

Stardew Valley is already a magical game that you can lose hours and hours to. Fae And Folk will simply make you lose a few hours more.

Like I said earlier, we’ve covered a lot of fan-made expansions for Stardew Valley, so if you’re looking for something to spice up the gameplay, overhaul the graphics or remove some of the game’s more frustrating features there’s bound to be a mod out there for you, or several.

Stardew Spin-off

Pivoting away from the mods for a second, I’d be remiss if I didn’t highlight an exciting release coming in 2026, that’ll be perfect for Stardew Valley fans.

Sunkissed City-
Mr. Podunkian

Next year, which is only a few hours away, ex-Stardew Valley developer Mr. Podunkian will be launching Sunkissed City. While not exactly a spiritual successor, the two games share a lot of the same DNA, though in Sunkissed City you’ll be leaving behind country-life and finding your way in a suburban dream.

Like Stardew Valley, we’re expecting fans to take Sunkissed City and run with it, creating a wide variety of mods and expansions just like what they’ve done with ConcernedApe’s game.

Sunkissed City is launching in 2026 and if it’s not on your wishlist already, get it on there.
