There’s much about The Elder Scrolls VI that remains a mystery.

That being said, fans believe they’ve uncovered a hint as to when we can expect the game to be released.

You see, Bethesda has partnered with Make-A-Wish where you can currently bid for the chance to design an in-game NPC.

A similar competition happened two and a half years ahead of Starfield’s original release date, prior to its delays.

As such, many are now assuming that The Elder Scrolls VI might launch in mid to late 2027.

It certainly feels plausible but, of course, I have to urge you to take this theory with a pinch of salt.

Whatever happens, The Elder Scrolls VI isn’t landing any time soon.

I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but the following sentiment is one worth repeating; it’s a blessing that Skyrim boasts such a vibrant modding community.

Even when we’re without new official content, there’s always something fan-made to keep us occupied.

And if you’re a Skyrim player on PC who’s yet to check out the ‘Wyrmstooth’ mod, then I highly suggest you go about changing that.

Take a look at The Elder Scrolls VI in action below.

This expansion-sized project is the work of NexusMods user Jonx0r.

If you hadn’t guessed, ‘Wyrmstooth’ introduces a new region by the name of … yes, Wyrmstooth.

“Travel to the foreboding island of Wyrmstooth in pursuit of a dragon that's interrupting trade routes throughout Skyrim,” the synopsis reads.

The island of Wyrmstooth is situated north of Solitude, across the Sea of Ghosts.

There, players will find a brand new landscape to explore, featuring new dungeons, new weapons, new spells, new shields, and a dragon who cannot stop stirring up trouble.

Alongside all of this, you’ll want to purchase an abandoned imperial fort from Lurius Liore; a place you can make your own, filling it with staff who’ll help you defend it from unwanted visitors.

It’s no surprise that ‘Wyrmstooth’ has been downloaded thousands of times.

In fact, Eurogamer even called it “one of the best new lands mods for Bethesda’s fantasy game ever created”.

I should also point out that despite being released several years ago, ‘Wyrmstooth’ was updated as recently as mid 2024.

It’s definitely a classic banger that shouldn’t pass you by.
