Skyrim: The Forsworn Conspiracy Is A New Free Quest Expansion

Skyrim keeps getting better!

Just when you thought that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim couldn't get any bigger, the fantastic modding community treats us to a free expansion.

Originally released in 2011 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before being ported to just about every platform imaginable for every console generation since, Skyrim is considered by many to be the best in The Elder Scrolls series.

“Play any type of character you can imagine, and do whatever you want; the legendary freedom of choice, storytelling, and adventure of The Elder Scrolls is realised like never before,” reads the description of the game.

“Choose from hundreds of weapons, spells, and abilities. The new character system allows you to play any way you want and define yourself through your actions. Battle ancient dragons like you’ve never seen. As Dragonborn, learn their secrets and harness their power for yourself.”

Other than being an awesome fantasy RPG in its own right, Skyrim is supported by the ever-vibrant modding community, which not only fixes some of those infamous Bethesda bugs, but also improves visuals, performance and, as is the case with this story, adds brand new story content.

One such mod is called ‘The Forsworn Conspiracy - Quest Expansion’, created by Anbeegod, and best of all, it’s free to download now via Nexusmods.

“Greatly expanded the Forsworn Conspiracy questline to give new choices, new roleplaying opportunities, and new epic stories. Over 200 new lines,” reads the dedicated mod page.

“Kill a dozen savages, and they paid you a pouch. Kill a hundred, and they venerated you in songs. Kill an entire city of them? And you became Jarl in all but name. It has been so... until YOU came along!"

In particular, as explained above, this mod is related to the ‘Forsworn Conspiracy’ questline, not only adding new stories but also new choices.

Some of the new choices include saving some popular NPCs, slaying one of the most sinister families in all of Tamriel (and that’s saying something), and the possibility of inheriting great wealth.

Sadly, as is the case with most mods, this is a PC exclusive.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It’s also included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription at no extra cost.

At the time of writing, it’s also included with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, but it’s worth keeping in mind that Skyrim might not always be available with Sony’s subscription service.
