Despite barely spending any time there, Blackwater remains an iconic location in Red Dead Redemption 2 and this free expansion is about to make the location a lot more desirable than before.

Featured in Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, Blackwater is an iconic location in the Rockstar series and was the site of The Blackwater Massacre which saw the Van der Linde gang face off against the Pinkertons.

As a result, Blackwater is inaccessible to Arthur and the gang up until the group has been disbanded in the latter half of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Well, it is accessible but just expect a lot of trouble if you decide to check the place out.

Despite this, players have always been eager to check the settlement out but due to its somewhat abandoned aesthetic, there is not a lot to explore to say the least.

However, there is now a way to see Blackwater in all its glory thanks to a brand-new mod.

The Expanded Blackwater mod by YGBRO over on NexusMods does exactly what it says on the tin.

It opens up Blackwater for the first time, allowing players to hop on the nearest horse and check out its cobbled streets and various buildings.

It will now be more populated than ever before with the creator aiming to make Blackwater feel more special and vibrant.

With the mod being uploaded just yesterday, it remains to be seen how popular it will be but there is no denying that the average Red Dead Redemption 2 fan will be checking it out.

If you are in the market for some other free downloads for the Rockstar title, we have you covered.

Those who find themselves constantly running from the law can check out this law overhaul mod which aims to breathe a new lease of life into the game.

If you want to dabble with mods but don’t want to change too much, you can download an enhanced edition which will make the game clearer than ever before.

Other than that, you can check out thousands of free downloads which are added daily and are part of the reason why Red Dead Redemption 2 is as popular today as it was back in 2018.
