PC gamers be aware: you have one last chance to grab a critically acclaimed game for the low price of nothing.
I know most of you are either still obsessed with Baldur's Gate 3 or prepping for a weekend locked away with Starfield. Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if a few of you were still hooked on The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom. But there's a new free game on PC that's definitely worth your attention. And just because you claim it now doesn't mean you need to play it right away; it'll be yours forever.
You have until 4pm today (31 August) to get your hands on Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, a 9/10 rated sc-fi drenched real-time strategy adventure. It's absolutely worth a look, especially since all you need to do to claim it is head on over to the Epic Games Store and create an account. That's assuming you don't already have one. If you do it's even easier than that.

If for some reason you're one of those deeply weird gamers that thinks they're taking a moral stance against Epic Games because Steam is a functioning human being that loves you and not just another faceless digital storefront, you can get the game for 90 percent off on Valve's platform. If you really want to do that, go off.
Anyway, Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak is described as "a ground-based RTS prequel to the classic Homeworld games. Assemble your fleet and lead them to victory on the shifting sands of Kharak in this compelling strategy game for PC from Blackbird Interactive."
While the game has recently received mixed reviews from Steam users, it currently boasts an average score of 9/10 and an overall rating of very positive, so definitely worth a look. Or you could head off and play Starfield or Baldur's Gate 3, your call.
