A free update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available to download now on PC following its recent launch.
Originally released in 2023 and developed by Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5 is the critically acclaimed sequel to the first game that launched on PS4 five years earlier and sees Peter Parker take on his arch nemesis, Venom, played by the late, great Tony Todd.

When the first Marvel’s Spider-Man was released in 2018, it was greeted with positive reviews and garnered a respectable score of 87 on the aggregate website, Metacritic.

So it came as no surprise when Insomniac Games, developer of the Ratchet & Clank series improved on its predecessor with an even more impressive score of 90 for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

On 30 January 2025, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released on PC via Steam, and now, as spotted by DSOGaming, its first patch has been released with version 1.205.0.0.

The free update which is available to download now makes a ton of quality-of-life improvements such as being able to toggle the ‘Film Style Animation’ and ‘Comic SFX’ via the in-game settings.
The user interface has been improved making the option of starting a New Game Plus a bit easier. Back-ups to autosaves have also been implemented, mouse scrolling has been added to the load/save menus and much more.
Of course, as is the nature of most post-launch updates, various reported bugs have been fixed in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and no doubt, Insomniac Games will be deploying additional updates on PC and PlayStation 5 in the future.
