There are few better post-apocalyptic RPGs as immersive as Bethesda’s Fallout series and now perhaps more than ever, it’s never been hotter.
Don't get me wrong, fans have loved the Fallout series since its inception in 1997 but when Bethesda acquired the licence and released Fallout 3, it took the series to new heights. Then this year, we’ve been treated to the live-action adaptation from Amazon Studios which has helped welcome a new legion of fans.
Check out the Fallout 4 trailer below!
Recently, Fallout 4 received its long-awaited free new-gen update which brings improved visuals and performance, well, mostly. At the time of writing, the free update is still bugged on Xbox Series X meaning that players can only select the performance mode.

One of the reasons why Fallout 4 has remained popular since its 2016 release (other than being a fun game) is its ever-vibrant and talented modding community. If modders aren't fixing existing bugs that continue to plague the game, they are also adding a wealth of new content, such as the topic of today’s discussion.
The mod in question is South of the Sea - Atoms Storm and it's available to download via Nexusmods, and it’s basically one giant, free expansion. Happy days!
South of the Sea - Atoms Storm is “a tribute to the classic mod from Baerthe, Cryptdick, Wanaming0, and Carnagefiend, South of the Sea,” reads the description of the mod. “Known for enhancing the Glowing Sea and surrounding areas, South of the Sea left a legacy in the modding community calling for the brave to pick up the mantle and resume development.”

It continues: “The technical issues have been addressed and the stories and quests have been expanded. The world locations and interior maps have been redrawn to fit the story of the Fanatics of Atom, the Swamp Folk, and the flaming demon creatures.”
Fallout 4: South of the Sea - Atoms Storm is available for the PC version of Bethesda’s popular RPG. The free new-gen update is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
