Fallout 4: What Lies Below adds a brutal new mode for you to check out

Kiss goodbye to easy combat

It is no secret that Fallout 4 doesn’t have the most difficult gameplay but this brutal new mode will make you miss your “peaceful” walks through the wastelands of this hit RPG.

As the fourth main instalment in the Fallout series by Bethesda, Fallout 4 may not be considered as the best but it was by no means any less popular than other titles in the franchise.

So which is the best Fallout title? Check out our thoughts below!

Tasking the player with leaving the comfort of their vault and heading into the wastelands to find their son, gameplay consists of defending yourself against both human and animal as you make your journey. However, with combat leaving much to be desired, one creator has created a brutal mode which will see you miss those early days.

What Lies Below by crashedout24 on Nexus Mods is a vanilla quest mod for Fallout 4 “that implements wave-based gameplay that will challenge even the most veteran players.”

Players will get to uncover a treasure contained within a mystery hatch, fight waves of enemies that will challenge the most skilled players and reveal a hidden terrain lurking in the depths of an unassuming lake.

With ghouls to fight on a large-scale, players will have to implement all of their weapons and abilities to come out on top and uncover the secrets this free-to-download mod includes.

This is one of thousands of mods available for Fallout 4 including one that adds 20+ hours of new content, a brand-new area that includes real-life history and even a quest which you can download to support charity.

Additionally, following the news that the hit Prime Fallout show will be receiving a second season, fans have recently discovered that a fan-favourite character from the games may be making a cameo.

Hopefully it won’t be too long to wait.
