Cyberpunk 2077 gets wildly impressive new third-person mode

Cyberpunk 2077 gets wildly impressive new third-person mode

A new way to play Cyberpunk 2077

If you’re looking for a new way to play the critically acclaimed sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077, then you’re in the right place.

Despite its launch woes that was plagued with so many bugs and performance issues that Sony once pulled it from the PlayStation Store, CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is now one of the best RPGs in recent years.

Check out the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty trailer below!

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure RPG set in the dark future of Night City — a dangerous megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour, and ceaseless body modification,” reads the synopsis of the popular CDPR game.

Cyberpunk 2077 is played in a first-person perspective and it can be argued that it’s the best way to feel immersed in the vibrant Night City and its surroundings. However, much like Skyrim and Starfield, it would be nice to have the additional option of playing in a third-person perspective.

Sadly, being able to play Cyberpunk 2077 in a third-person perspective is not possible, well, at least not officially. Thankfully, as reported by DSOGaming, we have the never-ending talents of the modding community to have our backs.

A mod created by Tylerrrrr called the tongue-twisting ‘Every animation redone TPP third-person’ is available to download now for free via Nexusmods which has just benefited from update Version 5.0.

As already established, this mod allows you to play Cyberpunk 2077 in a third-person perspective. However, it also improves animations such as bumping into NPCs, combat, sprinting, climbing and more to look natural for a game designed to be played in first-person.

Unfortunately, as is the nature of most mods, this is only available for the PC version of the game. For the rest of us, we’ll just have to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion on PlayStation and Xbox as originally intended.
