Cyberpunk 2077 fans blown away by free graphical overhaul

It’s satisfying to see Cyberpunk 2077 come full circle, with the once unplayable game now thriving, blowing fans away without the need for mods. That being said, one graphics overhaul is helping to polish the game even further, making it a true delight for the eyes.

We already know that love for the game is strong, with the majority of its fandom believing that the game would have won GOTY if it had been released in 2023. Some may then argue that there’s no need to enhance Cyberpunk 2077 when it’s doing such a stellar job already.

But gamers are perfectionists. Well, some of us are. So, if we can make something the best of itself, we’ll do so. This isn’t to say that CD Projekt Red hasn’t done an amazing job with Cyberpunk already, just that there are still elements of its graphics that aren’t easy on the eyes.

But this free overhaul? It helps eliminate a lot of those last issues, and in such a subtle yet beautiful way. “This makes Cyberpunk with full path tracing playable for so many people. What absolute wizardry,” said one impressed player.

Another commenter then continued the high praises, saying, “This [mod] got my 3080 to do path tracing balanced at 80fps – before [the mod] path tracing was completely unplayable. Amazing work from the mod.”

Granted, there are still the odd flicking shadows that nitpicking viewers were quick to point out, but overall the overhaul (what a sentence) is incredible. If fans were impressed with the Judy shower scene before, wait until they see it with this beauty smoothing over the aesthetics – and it was already delivering “breathtaking” visuals that left fans in awe.
