Oh, you thought Cyberpunk 2077’s graphics couldn’t possibly get any better? It looks as if you thought wrong. CD Projekt RED’s beloved release may boast some of the most dazzling visuals out there but a brand new mod proves there’s more to be teased out of Night City.
Last year was a major one for Cyberpunk 2077. While the game’s evolution began back when the new-gen port landed in 2022, it was 2023 that finally saw Cyberpunk 2077 bring its original vision to life. The release of the fantastic Phantom Liberty expansion starring Idris Elba was paired with the launch of the free Update 2.0. This introduced vehicular combat, a new relic skill tree, in addition to overhauling the policing system and cyberware. The surprise Update 2.1 then also added a working metro system. Fans agree that had Cyberpunk 2077 launched in its current state, it would have easily won Game of the Year.
Take a look at Cyberpunk 2077’s expansion Phantom Liberty in action below.

It may have only been out a few days but it’s already been downloaded several thousand times. According to the description, the mod “replaces a lot of low quality architectural, terrain and environment textures to remade higher fidelity ones, while still being optimised”. It also “includes new microblends and some various textures. Textures are made trying [to] match the vanilla look but still improve on the quality and better match the environment. Some textures have more of a new look.”
A quick trip over to the mod listing on NexusMods will reveal several side by side comparisons, showing you just what a major difference this download can make to your base game. All in all, it includes over 170 textures so if you’re a PC player, dive in now.
