The next Pokémon Legends spin-off, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, has been hit with a troubling leak about its development.
I don’t think it’s an understatement to say fans haven’t been too pleased with the state of the last few Pokémon games, not that they were bad, just that they could have been so much more than what we got.

Here’s hoping that Pokémon Legends: Z-A and the Gen 10 games are a substantial improvement, but judging from the latest leaks, it’s not sounding like that will be the case.

Take this with a pinch of salt, of course, but the leaks are saying the next games are being made for the Nintendo Switch, with an enhanced port coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 later.
As you can imagine, fans are upset by this, as it not only applies to the Gen 10 games but the next Pokémon Legends game as well, arguably the game that needs the advanced hardware more.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus was a refreshing take on the series that threw gamers into an open-world and introduced a quick and intuitive capture and battle system, it’s just a shame that it didn’t quite look the part and struggled with framerates.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet were largely the same, so the idea that the next Pokémon games are being developed with the Nintendo Switch in mind first is indeed worrying.

Again though, take this with a pinch of salt as it might not actually be the case, or it was the case at some point but the plan has since changed direction.
As for when we can expect another Pokémon game, that’s a whole different problem as it’s believed the next game will be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is now expected to launch towards the end of this year given that the full reveal showcase isn't due until April.
