You’re here to see the new Pokémon starter so I won’t keep you too long with the preamble. Let’s just get to it.
After the recent Game Freak leaks that flooded the internet, it seems a cancelled water-type starter 'mon has emerged - originally intended to feature in Ruby and Sapphire instead of Mudkip.
GAMINGbible loves Pokémon and we went along to the World Championships to meet some players.
Warabbit has already been branded as iconic by the original poster and it’s clear to see why.

Any cutesy animal from Game Freak tends to win the hearts of fans, though this particular design appears to be a mash-up of two existing Pokémon.
There’s a hint of Scorbunny in there and a dollop of Mudkip too.
Of course, Reddit is reacting in a perfectly normal way with some positive comments and some hate, but overall, plenty of jokes.
The top reply says simply, “Bro was discovered four days ago and already became iconic.”

One comment asks how the rubber ring stays around Warabbit’s waist - asking the important questions - to which the response was, “I saw an image that showed it as his tail being wrapped around his body in a circle, but I'll be honest I don't know if that was fan-made or part of the leaks.”
A fancy sprite version has been created which makes it look a little better than the 3D rendering, but something still seems off about this one.
Clearly, this starter was scrapped, which is a shame but we did end up with the delightful Mudkip.
A comment from viridiantrees said, “Such a shame he was never official… SOME MONS DESERVE TO BE REAL.”

Oh well, at least we’ve seen some working images from the notoriously private company. And yes, Warabbit is still iconic.
