Nintendo just released a bunch of new items you can grab on the Nintendo Switch for free, provided of course that you have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
As revealed earlier today by the Twitter account NSO Icons Alerts, several new Mario themed icons can now be redeemed if you have enough My Nintendo Platinum Points spare to purchase them.
These icons are only available until the 22nd of this month however, so make sure you snag them while you can. A lot of Nintendo Switch icons have never been re-released after they've cycled through, so make certain you claim any specific ones that catch your eye - just in case you never have the chance to do so again!

It's surprisingly difficult to verify exactly how many of these limited time icons have been available throughout the course of the Nintendo Switch's lifespan, but one Reddit user was able to confirm that (as of February last year) over 2,000 of them have been obtainable so far.
More recently, another user collated exactly how many of these icons belong to each different Nintendo property and managed to confirm that over 400 Splatoon icons and almost 600 Animal Crossing icons have been released since the Nintendo Switch launched back in March 2017.
The same post also proved that (yet again) Nintendo have given Metroid the least attention out of any of their titles, as only 45 Metroid Prime icons have been released over the years.
Keep in mind that, as of roughly four months ago, a lot of Nintendo Switch icons can only be redeemed if you have access to one of the games that the icons are featured in. No word on whether or not this is the case with the newly released Mario icons, but don't get your hopes up if you don't own a Mario game that you can use to claim them.
