Be quick these downloads aren't available for long

Nintendo Switch Online is the home of freebies if you know where to look. You can find everything from free games to free items that help you personalise your experience.

A big part of customising your profile is in the icons and frames available and these are free for everyone if you earn yourself some platinum points by completing little challenges.

Nintendo Switch will be getting a brand new Zelda game this year, and it actually features Zelda in the role of hero

Of course, these icons, borders, and frames get changed out and swapped for new imagery often, so you have to be fast if you want to grab your favourites.

A huge batch of icons will be leaving the service on 1 July and they range from simple, plain backgrounds for your profile image, to cute designs of your favourite characters.

To purchase any of these icons you need platinum points which are easily earned for free by simply completing small challenges via the Nintendo Switch Online feature on the console, or via the website.

Often these missions are set up to be completed quickly and easily by playing a game or interacting with a smartphone app. Complete enough and you’ll soon have a bank of points just waiting to be spent.

You can redeem any icons from the Nintendo Switch Online app on the console and using these, you can customise your profile icon in whatever way you choose.

Some of the great designs leaving on 1 July include a selection of characters from Super Mario Wonder and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, all of which feature the famous characters from the Mario franchise.

There are also some throwback icons from Super Mario Odyssey. If you don’t want to miss out on any of these, particularly if you’ve found yourself collecting them, then you only have a few more days left.
