There’s so much game news popping up on our feeds that it’s easy to miss news of freebies.

Luckily for you, we’re here to make sure you don’t miss out.

Three classic free games have been added to Nintendo Switch Online.

Nintendo has been adding classic experiences to its Switch subscription for some time now, so you’re likely wondering what makes this different.

These are SEGA Mega Drive titles.

Here's a brief look at the classic titles joining NSO

Correct us if we’re wrong (we know you will), but we’re pretty sure this is the first time this year that SEGA Mega Drive games have been added to NSO.

Consider it a very early Christmas gift from Nintendo Santa.

The three freebies are Mercs, ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron, and Vectorman.

“Brilliant. I was not expecting more Mega Drive games!” posted Twitter user @Alex79uk.

Shockingly, this is the only excited reply regarding the announcement.

The other comments, which are few in number, are querying other classic games.

“LAMEEEEE WHERE TF IS MORTAL KOMBAT????” asked @sullivans2004.

We wouldn’t say three retro experiences for free is lame.

Far from it, actually.

You can explore alongside ToeJame and Earl as they return to their home planet, only to discover that it’s being invaded.

Or you can test your reflexes with the arcade shooter sequel that is Mercs. Can you survive the swarm of enemies headed your way?

And lastly, you can choose to fight alongside Vectorman, the one thing standing between humanity and its destruction.

Each one of them delivers something different, but all three allow you to time travel from the comfort of your own home for the small cost of an annual NSO subscription.

This will likely be the last drop of SEGA Mega Drive games for the Switch before the new year.

If you crave a return to the old ways of video gaming, this is your chance to recapture those glory days.
