One big question on everyone’s lips is, when the Nintendo Switch 2 will actually launch?
We’ve seen the console, we have some idea of the games that Nintendo has planned, but we’re still missing a price, and crucially, a release date.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is coming this year, but the actual date is up in the air
Retailers are busy working behind the scenes to prep their websites, ready for preorders.

Whether they have inside knowledge, or are making educated guesses, is hard to pin down, however, some are listing a potential date for the Nintendo Switch 2.
A retailer in Finland, Konsolinet, has recently listed the highly anticipated console for a 9 May 2025 release.
This could be a placeholder date, but some fans are ready to believe it’s the real thing.
Due to the way Nintendo operates, and the secrecy surrounding the console, it’s hard to believe that retailers would have a date so far in advance.

This could be speculation, so keep that in mind, and keep a pinch of salt to hand.
Either way, it’s coming soon, so your wallet better be ready.
Players will be able to get their hands on the Switch 2 in April at events across the world.
This will follow the official Nintendo Direct that will reveal more details on the console and let us know just how powerful it is.

Aside from Mario Kart 9, we’ve got no idea exactly which Nintendo franchises will support the console in the early days.
We’ll likely see something of Mario, but whether other legacy characters will appear is hard to say until we get a software showcase.
Excitement is rampant and hopes are high. A new console is always a great time for the industry and its fans.
