Today is Pokémon Day and that means that fans can expect an announcement later today courtesy of The Pokémon Company.
Celebrated on 27 February each year, Pokémon Day does exactly what you would imagine - a time dedicated to celebrating the monster-catching game that has captured hearts since 1996.
Check out the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement below!
Not only that but this year is a big one as it is also the anniversary of the original Pokémon coming to the Game Boy.

Kicking off at 2PM GMT/3PM CET/6AM PT/ 9AM ET, the showcase will air on Twitch and Youtube.
The showcase was announced earlier this week by The Pokémon Company, alongside the following statement.

"The video presentation will be streamed at 2 pm GMT on February 27, 2025, on the official Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels."
As for what we can expect to see at the showcase, it is open to interpretation with some fans believing we will finally get news of a Pokémon Black and White remake for the Nintendo Switch.
There could also be news about the next mainline Pokémon game which will mark the 10th generation.
What we can expect, however, is further updates on Pokemon Legends: Z-A which is expected to launch later this year.
