A successor to the Nintendo Switch is on the way, and it honestly cannot come soon enough.
Certainly, I’m looking forward to the console’s release, but it will simply be nice for all these rumours and whispers to be put to rest.
I feel as if I’m more likely to see a wild unicorn than GTA VI’s second trailer or the reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2.

In recent days, images surfaced online supposedly showing off the Switch 2’s Joy-Cons which, for the most part, looked exactly like the original Switch’s Joy-Cons.
The new designs were perhaps a tad chunkier, but fans were, on the whole, underwhelmed by the subtle changes.
Of course, this could just be some jokester somewhere duping us all with a 3D printed creation so please remain extremely dubious.
Another leaker then surfaced with a tidbit about the Nintendo Switch 2’s supposed launch price, which is slightly more than any of us expected, again if true.

Pokémon Legends Z-A is expected to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The rumour mill is pointing towards a January reveal and a spring release but officially, all we know is that Nintendo will reveal the console by the end of the fiscal year in April.
In the meantime, a fresh rumour has surfaced I say as the people groan and yell, “Not again”.

This time, concerning the console’s battery life.
A supposed prototype part of the Nintendo Switch 2 previously leaked showcasing a battery slot that’s much smaller than that of the Nintendo Switch OLED model.
Again, keep that pinch of salt close by.
That doesn’t necessarily mean a less powerful battery as it could simply be pointing towards a more optimised one but it’s certainly led to fans discussing their hopes for the component.

“The mainboard reads X6. Some people say it's a prototype from late 2023 and the current revision is X8. The battery size, along with everything else could have changed by now,” replied a logical cybergatuno.
“I imagine they will target a four hour minimum battery life through a combination over downclocking and a larger battery than Switch 1. This should be plenty as it should still charge by USB C,” added Quiet_Honeydew_6760.
SharkTheDeepfan830 wrote, “It will probably have less battery life as it’s powerful. Once it gets more revisions, it will have better battery life imo.”
Please Nintendo, put us out of our theorising misery and give us something concrete to cling onto.
