Nintendo fans are getting increasingly frustrated by Nintendo’s refusal to show us its next home console, and the leaks aren’t helping either.
Now Nintendo is a notoriously protective company, and if it doesn’t want fans to know about its next game or console nobody is going to know about it.

You can respect the hustle honestly, and it does mean when the company drops a new announcement, like during a Nintendo Direct, it’s genuinely an exciting surprise.

That said, I think we’ve known about the Nintendo Switch 2 for a little too long now and the lack of an official reveal is starting to drive us crazy.
Leaks of hardware cases and other accessories have exacerbated the issue, as they give us glimpses and ideas of what the next console could look like but no concrete proof.
In a Reddit thread by IWantSwitch2 (a fitting name) things came to a boiling point as images of leaked accessories were shared along with the caption “Just show the damn thing already!”
Many expected the Switch 2 to be unveiled before Christmas for an early 2025 launch, but now fans are predicting that it “HAS to be announced Jan 1-10, there’s no way they hold it back any longer, I’d imagine if we didn’t have Christmas they would have already announced it.”

“Just put the switch 2 in the bag” joked another fan, but I think Nintendo would rather perish than reveal anything before its time.
In fairness though the Nintendo Switch 2 is going to be worth the wait, as while it probably won’t compare to the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in terms of power we’ve been due an upgrade on our Nintendo games for quite some time.
Perhaps it’ll even make the next Pokémon game look good…
