New Nintendo DS game releasing in the year of our lord 2024

Someone out there is gonna be real upset that this has found its way online...

If you can believe it, we might be able to get our hands on a new Nintendo DS game this year– the operative word there being “might”.

As spotted by one user over on the r/legogaming subreddit, an eBay listing for a "Unreleased Development Prototype" of a game called LEGO Castle recently popped up outta nowhere.

As of writing, the listing has already sold, but folks are desperately hoping that someone dumps the ROM of the game online so they can play it for themselves.

According to one of the commenters in the thread, it looks to be legit too.

“That's easily one of the 3 versions Lego battles before Hellbent merged the 3 games to one,” commented user MaterialWorking8029, “This makes me think that the Lego pirates and Lego space games also exist somewhere.”

“Looked at the eBay page and noticed there are actually assets not found within the original battles files (the Ds icon and the fact that the kings act 1 has 6 levels instead of 5). This is still giving me 50% scam vibes but there's a lot of evidence for the beta version of this game.”

There’s also a little more evidence beyond said beta asset proof: the eBay seller themselves.

I have no idea who the seller could be, but they have a whole bunch of prototype cartridges up for sale on their profile, including one for the game Moon and another for the Gameboy Advance version of Sonic The Hedgehog.

Whether or not the buyer will actually dump the ROM for LEGO Castle is pretty 50/50 at this point.

A lot of the collectors who buy unreleased betas/prototypes never actually dump them online, as they believe that they’re worth more if they keep all of their secrets for themselves.

Honestly, I’m way more interested to see what’s on that Sonic the Hedgehog cartridge…
