Hogwarts Legacy fans are already thinking about the next game in the series, and everyone agrees that including the Triwizard Tournament as a central plot point would be incredible.
Although Hogwarts Legacy 2 hasn’t been officially announced by Avalanche Software at the time of writing, it was confirmed earlier this year that Warner Bros sees Hogwarts Legacy as long-term franchise, which we can only assume means that one or more sequels are likely to be released at some point later down the line. Not that that’s surprising, really, considering the overwhelming success of the first game.

Already, fans have been sharing their hopes and dreams for the seemingly inevitable sequel. Many are hoping that the world will feel more immersive next time round, while others have suggested that it’d be amazing to allow players to transfer their saves and continue their story from the sixth year at Hogwarts. Meanwhile though, some are hoping for something wildly different - for the whole game to be based around the Triwizard Tournament, AKA the deadly competition featured in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

“There is canonically no reason for Hogwarts Legacy 2 NOT to do the Triwizard Tournament,” Reddit user BCDragon3000 posted.
Others are totally on board: “Amazing plot point that could carry through the length of that game. You’re chosen, and each 'quest' is a Triwizard challenge. The tough part would be making it different enough from the book,” ArTooDeeTooTattoo replied. “Yes please[,] it was my biggest want outta the Hogwarts game[,] more so than Quidditch. You could make the tournament be a huge main quest line [that] spans the whole game,” commented commanderr01. “Honestly if they do I hope they do it at Durmstrang. I know it’s called Hogwarts Legacy and all… but are they really just going to reuse the map?” added fxz109dgh2ahj9k.
It’d certainly spice things up a bit from the first game if the devs went down this route, but we’ll just have to wait and see if Avalanche Software takes notes.
