Grand Theft Auto fans are worried Rockstar Games will release the PC port of GTA VI a year after its console launch.
We still know very little about Grand Theft Auto VI and its release date, as it’s something Rockstar Games is holding very close to its chest. The only thing we know for certain is it’ll be released on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC, though it’s the PC port that has fans concerned at the moment.

Rockstar’s history of PC ports has been a frustrating topic amongst its fanbase. When they do release, they tend to be months after the console launches, meaning anyone who exclusively games on PC hardware has to wait significantly longer to enjoy the latest titles.

Grand Theft Auto IV, Bully, Grand Theft Auto V, and Red Dead Redemption 2 all arrived on PC later than the console versions did, and Red Dead Redemption still doesn’t have a PC port despite the demand from fans.
Reddit user Unreal_Dream is one of the many fans who believe it’ll be the same story for GTA VI, which they expressed through a meme mocking Rockstar’s release windows.
While fans are hoping Rockstar will release the PC port at the same time, many are preparing for the worst, and plan on buying a current-gen console just so they don’t miss out on the game.
“I will buy a PS5 when GTA 6 is about to release. There is no way I am waiting a whole year. By the time it releases on PC, everything about the game will be on the internet and I don't want anything spoiled to me.”

“Eh il just buy a cheap used PS5 or Xbox by then to play GTA 6 no way I'm waiting another year, then il just sell the stuff when it comes to PC.”
“This is the only reason I'm saving up for a PS5 just so I could play GTA 6 day one on launch.”
While a release date still hasn’t been shared, Rockstar’s publisher Take-Two has hinted at a 2025 release, meaning a reveal could be due later this year.
That being said, a lot of the discourse around the release date is rumour and speculation so take it with a hefty handful of salt.
