GTA VI is set for release in 2025, meaning we have a whole other year to wait before getting our hands on the game, a year fans are petitioning to “skip” entirely.
Following the release of the first trailer for GTA VI, fans instantly wanted more, which doesn’t surprise us in the slightest. Boasting some of the best graphics we’ve seen from the series so far, a scarily accurate depiction of real-life Florida, and an actual release window, Rockstar Games certainly delivered the goods with this one.

Unfortunately the trailer also came with some disappointing news. For starters, only Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 were listed as confirmed platforms, implying PC users will need to wait for a port of the game before they get to play. Additionally, while an exact date wasn’t shared the trailer did confirm the game will launch sometime in 2025.

Considering we’re only just approaching 2024, and the game could very well launch late into 2025, fans still have a long wait ahead of them, though some are petitioning to skip the new year entirely so they can play the game sooner.
The petition was shared on the GTA VI subreddit, and had over 20,000 thousands signatures so far, and still climbing.
Obviously it’s a joke as you can’t just skip an entire year, but the sentiment behind it is very serious, fans want GTA VI and they want it now.
Some fans took the joke even further, saying if we somehow did manage to skip 2024, Rockstar Games would just throw a curveball at us and delay the game to 2026. Some even said we should skip all the way to 2050, meaning we’ll have access to GTA VI and GTA VII.

GTA VI is expected to drop sometime in 2025, provided there’s no delays, for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
