More warnings about a GTA VI delay have started to circulate leaving fans both confused and angry.
Last week was a rollercoaster ride for GTA VI fans, starting when an industry insider claimed that the new game would be pushed back until 2026.
Understandably, this claim concerned a lot of gamers.

The rumour mill wasn’t allowed to run away with itself for long though, after another GTA VI update left fans divided.
Ever since Rockstar Games announced its new GTA title, speculation has been pretty much all the fandom has known save the one official trailer.

Much of what we know about the game has yet to be officially verified, which undoubtedly creates an ideal breeding ground for worrisome rumours.

Now another GTA VI delay warning has been issued, much to the annoyance of fans.
Former Rockstar employee, Obbe Vermeij, one of the people behind the development of GTA III, took to Twitter to reveal that Rockstar has known about this delay for months despite its silence.
“The decision to delay GTA VI was made four months or so before the original release date,” Vermeij detailed, “Any further and it's hard to make the call. R* is probably not in a position to determine whether they will hit 2025 until May-ish.”
This wasn’t all the ex-Rockstar veteran had to say.

Vermeij continued, “GTA VI will sell for 10+ years and there is no competition to worry about. They are not going to release the game until they're 100% happy with it. No matter what it said in the trailer. I have no inside info. Didn't talk to anyone.”
Given their knowledge of the inner workings of Rockstar, this claim is being taken more seriously than previous ones.
That said, Vermeij, by their own admission, left the company roughly 15 years ago; much could have changed since their time there.
Even though Vermeij made clear that they’ve not spoken to anyone at Rockstar about this, many fans have seemingly taken their words as gospel.

“Knowing whether or not a delay is truly on the table over a year off from its scheduled release is insane,” tweeted GameRoll.
Another user questioned Vermeij saying, “Wait how do you know it's delayed if you haven't spoken to anyone or have no inside info? Is it just from your guys’ past release?”
Confusion is rife, as is annoyance.
Although Rockstar fans say they understand delays, there’s an undercurrent of unease about that actually happening.

Until Rockstar issues a statement itself, however, delay warnings need to be treated as speculation rather than fact.
