With many modern game releases getting the Unreal Engine 5 treatment, one game that unfortunately missed out when it was originally released is Far Cry 3. However, one creator has given us a sneak peek at what it could look like over ten years since it was first released.
First released in 2012, Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 is the third and perhaps most-loved instalment in the long-running first-person shooter series. As well as introducing us to perhaps one of the best villains of all time, it also captured the vibe of the franchise perfectly which more recent entries have struggled with.

However, as such an old release by today’s standards, Far Cry 3 is officially outdated but that is no problem for Youtube channel TeaserPlay which has created a remake concept trailer for the game. Featuring sparkling oceans, overgrown jungles and the blue sky hanging over the Pacific, you almost feel as though you are really there. However, be glad you’re not as we also get a look at the game’s villain himself, Vaas.

Despite already being an intimidating lad to say the least, he looks even more threatening in Unreal Engine 5 and we can only imagine how it will feel to be hunted by him in the modern-day.
This trailer is just one of many reasons why fans are still calling for a Far Cry 3 remake over ten-years since it was first released. However, with Ubisoft reportedly having many Far Cry-related projects in the works, including its first try at multiplayer, it may be a while until we see a revival.
As for TeaserPlay, the channel has also modernised some other classic games such as the original God of War game, GTA: San Andreas and even Temple Run to name a few.
In related news, many fans agree that the spin-off entry Fallout: Primal is an underrated gem.
