Fallout 4 has seen a surge of new players since the premiere of the Amazon Prime Video series, prompting long-time players to warn them of past mistakes and blunders.
While most Bethesda games are pretty straight–forward RPGs, they often leave a lot for the player to discover for themselves rather than spell things out for you.
See the below video for everything you need to know about Fallout 4
Most of the time the big secrets are hidden lore, like how the Deathclaws came to be, and other times it’s a hidden area like a Vault that exposes more of Vault-Tec’s lies, though sometimes it’s a bit more obscure…

In a recent thread asking Fallout 4 players what they didn’t know about the game until hours and hours in, one player confessed they weren’t aware they could sort their inventory.
As any Fallout fan would know, you collect a lot of junk in Fallout games, some useful, some not, making it difficult to find what you’re actually looking for sometimes.
The player said they “didn't use the sort button in the menu until I started playing survival and needed to know what was weighing me down. Now I use it all the time.”
They also added that they didn’t know “settlers only have ammo for their basic gun,” meaning if you want to deck out your allies with some decent weapons you’ll have to give them ammo too, which even I didn’t know.

Another played replied to the user’s comment saying they’d logged over 1000 hours into the game but “never realised there was a sort button.”
So there you go, you learn something new everyday, even in games that you’ve probably got hundreds of hours in. Hopefully new players fresh off the TV series won’t make the same mistakes.
