Fallout 3 has been reborn like a phoenix from ashes, thanks to a new mod that completely overhauls the game’s visuals.
Any Fallout fans hoping for news on Fallout 5 should prepare for disappointment, it’s not coming anytime soon. Bethesda is all hands on deck at the moment with Starfield, which will be followed by the development of The Elder Scrolls VI.

Fallout 5 is said to be next on the agenda, so for now, fans will have cope with pre-existing titles like Fallout 4, Fallout: New Vegas, and the topic of today’s discussion, Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 tends to not get as much credit as the other games in the series. It’s not bad by any means but was quickly overshadowed by the release of Fallout: New Vegas, which is still the best title in the series so far.
The third game definitely deserves some love though, and the below overhaul mod will hopefully persuade gamers to add it to their libraries.
Titled Fallout 3: Rebirth, created by TelShadow, the mod alters the game’s aesthetics, updating several in-game models that make the game look brand new in comparison to the base game.
The mod’s description reads: “Visually overhauls 95% of all the exterior locations making them seem less empty and more lived in before the bombs dropped and everyone started to panic, this overhaul also works on the raiders making the outposts look more like compounds and increases the number along with two raider bosses, As well as improving the super mutant camps.”

Practically all locations in the game have been given a fresh coat of paint, with the exception of the DC area which proved to be too difficult to update.
Overall, it makes Fallout 3, which is very dated in comparison to other Fallout titles, worth revisiting, or playing for the first time if you’ve never experienced it before.
Fallout 3 can be played on PC, Xbox and PlayStation platforms.
